Lately we've been really enjoying our Twitter following. There are tons of resources for people to follow celebrities and directors, but we decided to make a list of our favorite pet tweeple. You can find more of these in the new pet friendly twitter directory, TwitPets.com.
10. OliveTheDog
Oh, the life of a cosmopolitan office dog. Olive hangs at the offices of Mequoda and keeps a blog called Olive's Daily Growl. She even gets tagged on Facebook pictures!
Augustus's Twitter page should come with a warning: you will absolutely want a bulldog after a few of his updates. You'll also want to live anywhere on the West Coast -- nearly every picture tweet that Augustus sends is of him near an ocean or digging in the sand.
8. CappyTheDog
Cappy has a touch of wanderlust, always looking for the next thing on the horizon. We love a good dog who likes to travel. Join Cappy on his "voyage around the world!"
7. CatBirdDog
What happens when you combine 5 cats, a dog and a bird living with "stupid humans?" "Sam the spokesman," one of the cats in this menagerie, doesn't seem to be too thrilled about it. Hilarious updates ensue. With only 278 followers so far, this is a growing Twitter user that we hope to see more tweets from.
6. RomeoTheCat
This pinched-face Persian has been nationally recognized for his efforts in raising money for rescue organizations. This rescue cat gives five cents toward rehoming animals for every follower he gets. That's good enough reason to follow Romeo for us!
5. PuzTheCat
A "14 year old Apricot Tabby with 'tude," PuzTheCat has some interesting updates as a geriatric tabby. His aches and pains are something that any pet owner can relate to. Follow his snarky updates for tips on cat food, medicines and his love of chicken meat.
4. TheHotelDog
One of the few dogs we know of who also works in the travel industry, this Chocolate lab named Cocoa is the "chief resident Labrador" at the Best Western - Chocolate Lake. This also happens to be Cocoa's "#lameclaimtofame," which we don't think is lame at all!
3. MoxiePaws
A French Bulldog living in Honolulu - how glamorous can a dog get? Moxie seems to have lots of high-end requests, but that's kind of what we like about this little gal. She demands respect -- and rawhides.
2. El_Gato
Let's face it, we all love following powerful celebrities. But what about their pets? El Gato is the, um, "gato" belonging to Tony Hsieh, founder of e-shoe store, Zappos. El Gato tweets sporadically but we like the trend of celebrities creating Twitter accounts for their pets, so he gets the #2 spot with us.
A horse of a different color gets our Number 1 spot. We love Rainy because he truly sounds like a horse -- grousing about the high temperatures in San Diego County, hoping for rain, and we love the frequent TwitPics that offer life from the perspective of a Twittering horse. This big, Percheron-cross with big white stockings has his own website and still finds time to learn dressage.
Who did we miss? Let us know in the comments section below - also check out TwitPets.com for more from these great pets organized by pet type and more.

MissPoofy
I like Romeo the cat. I follow him daily.

Those are great ones too!
Sad to see that PuzTheCat passed away on 21 August. But Angel Puz is still tweeting!
That's very sad! :( Rest in peace little Puz!
